Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, expressed his thoughts about testing program of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping among athletes.
Victor Conte has claimed that it is unlikely that the 2012 Summer Olympics would be free from application of steroids and other forbidden medicines. Conte claimed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing program had different defects. Thus, steroid users were also chosen to take part in the Olympic Games.
The founder of BALCO doesn’t believe that usage of prohibited medicines has reduced. He doesn’t agree with persons who claim that decreased performance in various sports proves that steroids and other banned preparations are almost excluded from sports.
The founder of BALCO claims that steroids are widely taken now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies promoted adoption of sportspersons. Thus, sportspersons don’t take as high quantities as have been utilized before. Nonetheless, usage of steroids and other prohibited preparations remains to be a concern.
The founder of BALCO is sure that sportspeople don’t administer such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of administering such medicines, sportspersons apply the steroid testosterone which is claimed to be the grandfather of all steroids. Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it comes in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely taken by sportspeople. Furthermore, not too increased doses of testosterone are needed in order to produce dramatic effects. This steroid is popular among players of Major League Baseball.
Conte criticizes anti-doping policy. He affirms that anti-doping agencies have essential ambiguities. Even a truck can go through loopholes that are in doping laws, according to the founder of BALCO.
